Workability Pauses Job Board

Many of you know (and acutely feel) the current state of the job search marketplace. Most of you know that I’m not optimistic about the AI screening tools and even AI interviews now being used commonly now for many different entry level postings, especially with the impact of these hiring shifts on neurodivergent job seekers. A recent Stanford study exposed racial bias in the AI hiring systems: https://news.stanford.edu/stories/2026/06/ai-hiring-tools-racial-bias-research. It wouldn’t be a stretch to question whether those same systems recommend neurodivergent job candidates at equal rates as other job seekers, but so far only further research would provide us with that answer.

I often encourage job seekers to utilize various neurodivergent job boards and networks to gain access to a more neuro-inclusive hiring process when possible. In a recent coaching session, I came across this post from Workability, one of the most well-known disability hiring boards. The news that their job board is currently on pause due to the lack of a “ ‘real’ and ‘robust’ job market” took me by surprise, but it is indicative of what I too am observing in the job market.

Their announcement, while discouraging, does still point to additional resources, so take the time to read their post if you can. And hopefully Workability’s job board will return soon!
